Many orthopedic problems, like pain and stiffness in the joints, muscles and back, are not due to any specific disease in progress. Such problems are mostly symptoms of wearing, small injuries and tense muscles. The problems rise because of wrong use of the body during work and spare time. They also rise because of constant stress and lack of rest. However, if something is not done to treat such simple problems, they can over time evolve into a more serious condition or damage.Here are some simple advices to avoid or cure such orthopedic problems.
- Variate the way you sit or stand during work and other activities. Any position will exert pressure at certain areas of your body and restrict the flow of blood and lymph through these areas. There is no sitting and standing position that are so physiological correct that it should be held a long time. Frequent variations of your position will ensure that no body area will get a restricted blood flow over a long time.

(Best Syndication News) Exercise may help prevent advanced Alzheimer’s disease (AD) in people with early stages, according to new research from the United States. Mild Alzheimer’s patients with “lower physical fitness” had smaller brains than their “higher physical fitness” counterparts.
Although there was no difference in patients without the disease, there was a noticeable difference in Alzheimer’s patients. Study author Jeffrey M. Burns, MD, of the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City said “People with early Alzheimer’s disease who were less physically fit had four times more brain shrinkage when compared to normal older adults than those who were more physically fit, suggesting less brain shrinkage related to the Alzheimer’s disease process in those with higher fitness levels.”

(Best Syndication News) According to the National Institutes of Health, nearly 10 million Americans suffer from fibromyalgia. Sadly, many go through months and years of pain, frustration and confusion before receiving treatment because there is no diagnostic for this chronic illness.
Medical tests such as x-rays, blood tests and muscle biopsies can rule out other medical conditions (lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, Lyme disease) but can’t confirm fibromyalgia. Meanwhile, fibromyalgia sufferers endure multiple symptoms including global aching pain, fatigue, irritable bowel syndrome, sleep disturbances, heightened sensitivity to any sensation and depression.

(Best Syndication News) New evidence suggests that postmenopausal women with fibromyalgia reached exhaustion while exercising before their non-fibromyalgia counterparts. The patients also had lower than normal muscle strength and shorter aerobic capacity, leading researchers to believe that patients will benefit from an exercise program.
The researchers in Finland did their research on postmenopausal women because they are more likely to experience the condition than other women or men. The exact cause of fibromyalgia is not known, but some people are believed to be genetically predisposed to the condition. Symptoms include fatigue and pain and the disorder is generally perceived as non-progressive.

[Best Syndication] A new study has found that vitamin D has long-term effects on reducing inflammation which could help slow the aging process. The study was first published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.
The study was of 2,100 female twin pairs ranging in age from 19 – 79. The study focused on measuring genetics and found that the higher the vitamin D levels, the better the genes measured for lifelong aging and chronic stress. The genetic marked measured is called leukocyte telomere length (LTL). The more vitamin D levels the longer the LTL. The telomere length was a 5 year difference compared to those with the highest levels of vitamin D to those with the lowest levels.
Other studies have shown that when telomeres were shortened there was an increased risk for heart disease. This could be because of the chronic inflammation and is considered one key feature in the aging process.

Backpain can continue to plague you and make your life miserable long after you have recovered from the initial back injury. For chronic pain to develop, it takes more than just one injury to result in a weak back, but a lifetime of poor posture and bad habits. Fortunately, qigong/chi kung can produce relatively fast results, usually within several months of regular practice. The qigong/chi kung horse stance is no exception.
If at first you have difficulty with the qigong/chi kung horse stance and find that the backs of your thighs and buttocks are tight instead of relaxed, go back to the first lesson sitting down. (It is easier to relax them when you are sitting down).

You know when you can assume the first position automatically whenever you sit down, and when your back spasms ease and you find that you experience less frequent pain due to back problems than before.
Then you are ready to assume correct posture standing up. Most people think that just by standing up straight, they are assuming the correct posture. Unfortunately, that is not so.
To assume the correct posture, you have to maintain a straight back with no undue pressure exerted on the spine, and be relaxed enough that the chi energy is flowing uninhibited. Most people, even those who maintain correct posture sitting down, do not maintain good back posture standing up.

Dr. Oz said in two weeks you can reverse aging in your body - chemically speaking. Habits take hold after 3 weeks, but after 3 months you can actually measure a reduction in aging.
Dr. Oz added that the only person that can cure you is you! He often has patients come into his practice wanting him to cure them, he can only treat the symptoms, but the lifestyle choices you do every day will have more impact on your health.
The first segment on the show was Frank and Elaine who are unhealthy. Frank, 52, is a part time professional bowler that is overweight, has high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and Type 2 Diabetes. He said that he takes between 14 – 15 pills a day to treat all of these conditions. Elaine is 45 and is an insurance broker that feels like she is 65 years old. She says that she has a stressful career and is tired. Dr. Oz and Dr. Roizen visited at their home to assess their health and lifestyle. He weighed 270 and she weighed 223 pounds. Both are unable to keep up with the fitness test. They both took the biophysical 250 blood test to help see how they are aging.
